KBN Connects with Nevada Supreme Court Justice Patricia Lee at Leadership Workshop

Members of the Kansas City Korean Business Network (KBN) joined nearly 50 Korean American professionals and community leaders for a special Leadership Workshop & Conversation featuring Nevada Supreme Court Justice Patricia Lee.
Born in Jeonju, South Korea, Justice Lee made history as the first Asian American and African American justice to serve on the Nevada Supreme Court. During the workshop, she shared her personal journey of growing up half-Korean and half-African American, overcoming challenges, building a successful legal career, and ultimately reaching one of the highest judicial positions in Nevada.
Her message focused not only on perseverance and success, but also on the values behind meaningful leadership. Justice Lee spoke about the importance of remembering those who helped us along the way and using our own experiences, influence, and opportunities to help open doors for others.
For KBN members, the gathering was also an opportunity to build new relationships with professionals and leaders from across the Korean American community. Among those connections was Jessica Hong, a curator at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, who shared about her professional journey and work in Kansas City. KBN looks forward to continuing the conversation and exploring future opportunities to connect her experience with our community.
The following morning, several KBN leaders and local attorneys joined Justice Lee for a smaller breakfast gathering, providing another opportunity for meaningful conversation, relationship-building, and an exchange of perspectives on leadership and community.
